Comments: I am just taking a trip down memory lane and wondered if any of your members could throw any light onto my memories! My serious interest in the Meccano hobby began after visiting one of your major exhibitions in the early 1990s probably either 1991 or 1992. I was living in Haddington, East Lothian, at the time but remember catching the train from Edinburgh to either Perth or Stirling. Pretty sure it was Perth but not certain. However I moved down south in July 1992 so not sure of the date would work for your Perth exhibition that year? I can remember the venue was not far from the railway station. I also remember being enthralled by a large red and green crane….possibly aBlock Setter. So I just wondered if anyone could throw any light on if it would have been Stirling or Perth and if there are any photos still around?

Comments: Hello. I am seeking help with a portion of the Andy Knox Epic ping pong ball roller. Specifically for the jaw closing mechanism/setup that operates the three jaw claw on the four arm lifting system. I seem to have recreated all the functions except what pulls and releases the orange color string at the appropriate time. The lift is the component that is just before the auger (Archimedes Screw) Thank you, Robert Weiss

Comments: I picked up your flier at Model Rail Scotland. I have two flat wooden boxes and metal desk containing Meccano parts which were stored for many years in a loft, so are rather discoloured and some pieces a bit rusty. I'm sure it would clean up well. I would be happy to give it all away for free to anybody who may wish and is able to collect from Glasgow (near Botanic Gardens). I started with the red & green 60s pieces up to about Set 5 then bought a number of individual parts from Liverpool, including yellow and blue parts and various engineering components, gear wheels etc. I also got a load of it second hand from a junk shop c1970, probably 50s style with the sharp cornered silver pieces etc. These are the slightly rusty ones. There are also two stationery steam engines, one Meccano and one Mamod, not steamed for years but which should be in working order. If anyone is interested please Email me. I would give the society itself first refusal, then any of your members. If you give me an Email address I can take and send some photos if this is helpful. Regards Tom.

Comments: Does your Meccano, 10-in-1 Racing Vehicles STEM Model Building Kit with 225 Parts and Real Tools, Kids Toys for Ages 8 and Up come with instructions in Spanish? I'm friends with a family of recently-arrived Colombian refugees, and their son speaks and reads only Spanish. His birthday comes up in June and I'd like to give him this Meccano set.

Comments: I have a very comprehensive Meccano set dating from the 1950's contained in its own four drawer wooden cabinet. Many of the nuts, bolts and smaller parts are stored within tins dating from the same period. clockwork and electric motor and hornby/meccano transformer with period plug. I am seeking advice from knowledgeable person and considering a possible sale.

Comments: Last year I inherited from the friend of a distant relative, a large set which is made up of almost entirely high quality stainless steel parts. I haven't seen anything like this before so was wondering if there was any history behind this particular set.

Comments: First Meccano set was a #5 as a Christmas present in 1947. 1st model was built that day with a lot of help from Dad, which was the Derrick Crane (5.20). Plates blue with sharp corners !! I now have a grandson(5) & a collection of parts and we have had a go at some small models together. He likes it more than Lego, and from Timothy, I got instructions for sets 1,2&3, but his site no longer seems to work ?? and grandson wants instruction for set #4. Help !!
