A model of a Trawler built by Keith Remnant.
This was an early Meccano plan, but it looked just like a small cargo vessel. I showed it to a retired fisherman at the Elgin exhibition who told me what it should like. So I took it home that evening, modified it and took it back the next day and showed it to him. He said, "Now that's a trawler." (02/01/2017)

A model of a Mississippi Paddle Steamer built by Keith Remnant. My interest in jazz and all things Southern, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, Country, Appalachian mountain music etc, extends to the Mississippi Paddle Steamers. I've seen one or two smallish models, I seem to remember the MSoS sold one a wee while ago. My one is a freelance model built from photos and drawings trawled off the internet. There is a motor under the boiler room running a discreetly disguised chain drive which turns the paddle assembly. The motor has so far run without problems during several excursions to the Elgin exhibition. (24/02/2018)
